Early Touchstones

1974 – Selected to the FIRST Chinese National Wushu Team to perform outside China. One of 32 outstanding athletes selected out of 164 from every Chinese province. This elite team performed in U.S. cities ending with a reception by President Nixon and other Chinese and American dignitaries in the White House Rose Garden.
1985 – Competed in the FIRST Chinese National Tai Chi and Tai Chi Sword competition in Harbin, China. Won gold medal in Sun Style Tai Chi and other medals for outstanding performances.
1986 – Chosen as a member of the prestigious committee of 16 to establish the FIRST rules and standards for Tai Chi and Tai Chi Sword National competitions.
1988 - Selected as a member of the FIRST Chinese National Tai Chi Team.
